At Schoolyard, we do all embroidery in-house using the latest Tajima embroidery machines and high quality Madeira threads. This enables us to achieve extremely high quality designs that are hardwearing and colourfast. The first thing we have to do is 'digitise' your design, this converts your crest into a format that can be used in the embroidery machine and is called the 'embroidery disc'.

For all initial embroidery orders over £500.00 the 'disc' will be free of charge. First orders for less than £500.00 will carry a one off 'embroidery disc' charge of £35.00.

An embroidery proof will always be supplied for your approval prior to production of your initial order. Once approved, your design is kept on file for all future orders guaranteeing consistency.

The standard charge for embroidering an item is £1.60 per garment. This includes a design of up to 5,000 stitches in up to 8 colours. Due to their complexity or size, some designs require more than 5,000 stitches. If this is the case, there is an additional charge of 20p per 1,000 stitches per garment. We will always advise you of any additional costs prior to production.

Embroidered blazer badges are always charges at £3.95 each regardless of stitch count and are subject to a minimum order of 50 badges.

Embroidery direct onto blazer pockets is always charges at £4.95 per garment, regardless of stitch count, and are subject to a minimum order of 24 blazers.

Schoolyard employ a team of highly trained and experienced screen printers dedicated to producing the highest quality printed items.

We screen print directly onto the garments, using high quality inks which are then cured at over 180C to ensure that the print does not discolour or deteriorate, even during hot wash and tumble dry cycles.

This is not to be confused with the heat transfer method which can be used for 'multicolour' designs on large quantities.

As long as your order exceeds £500.00 there is no charge for film, screen or setup. For orders under £500.00 there will be a one off screen charge of £25.00. We will, under certain circumstances, accept orders under the product minimum's, but a £10.00 small order charge will apply.

The only exception to this is for sportswear which can be ordered in minimum quantities of 12. For these, a £25.00 setup charge will apply.

The standard charge for screen printing most of our products is £0.95 per item, which includes a one colour print in one position on the garment. For designs of more than one colour add £0.50 per additional colour per position plus a £25 screen charge.

Some products, such as ceramics, tea-towels, mousemats, most headwear and specific bags are priced differently. Please refer to their product pages for details.

Whenever possible please send good quality artwork either in hard copy or electronic format. We understand that you may not have the time or expertise to create the high quality artwork required for good quality printed or embroidered items. Just supply us with the rough sketch, letterhead or a garment you have previously had printed or embroidered and our experienced designers will do the rest. Any necessary artwork will be charge at cost and quoted for prior to starting your order. We will always send you a paper proof for your approval.
